Tax Returns Pricing

Please read this page thoroughly, as we receive many questions by email that are answered below.

We appreciate you taking the time to save us time during our busiest season! Thank you.

Prices are per tax year, per person and subject to 5% GST.

  • What’s included?

    • One file revision (we send you a first draft, you may request updates one time at no additional cost. Further file revisions are subject to a $30 admin fee per revision)
    • Access to spreadsheet templates & detailed instructional videos for both business (self-employment) & rental property income
    • Paperless, secure, electronic filing & communication process
    • Ongoing, timely email communication with the Make It Count tax team
    • One phone call with lead tax preparer, Gillian, to go through questions & details on your return (20 minutes max)
  • Additional charges may be applicable for:

    • More than one revision of your tax return (before filing)
    • Amendments or re-filing of previously filed tax returns
    • Document retrieval (i.e. retrieving your Notice of Assessment from CRA online and providing it to you)
    • Additional bookkeeping/clean up work to be done in order to get your file ready

      • Please note - we cannot guarantee availability for bookkeeping clean-up work/receipt processing during March and April. If you will need this service in order to complete your tax return, we recommend you reach out as early as possible.
    • More than one self-employment business/partnership/rental property
    • Calculating adjusted cost base for capital gains
    • Other added complexities
  • Discounts:

    • Please note that standard discounts are no longer offered, effective January 2026. If pricing is a barrier for you, please reach out to gillian@letsmakeitcount.ca. Thank you for understanding and appreciating the care and time we put into your tax returns!
  • We also offer advisory sessions! (Please note we do not offer advisory sessions during March and April)

    • Tax return prices do not include advisory work, but we are happy to offer one-hour advisory sessions to deep dive into topics such as:

      • Tax planning / preparing for your income tax bill
      • Bookkeeping/record-keeping
      • Quickbooks Online software questions
      • GST registration support & general GST questions
      • How to be self-employed (what can I write-off, etc.)
      • and countless other questions you may have!

Student/Zero Income/Discounted

$75 + GST

  • Enrolled in school
  • Earning less than $25,000 per year (for students)
  • Zero income (if not a student) or fixed income / social support income
  • Low complexity, not filing self-employment income & expenses
  • Submitting 3 or fewer forms
  • 1 x 15-minute phone call with lead tax preparer

Workin’ 9-to-5

$100 + GST

  • Employer(s) provide your T4 (not self-employed)
  • Submitting 5 or fewer forms (including T-slips, medical expenses, investments, childcare, and donations)
  • 1 x 15-minute phone call with lead tax preparer
  • Email support for questions

A little extra

$130 + GST

  • Employer(s) provide your T4 (not self-employed)
  • More than 5 tax forms including T-slips, medical expenses, investments, childcare, and donations
  • Claiming home office expense using the detailed method
  • Claiming any other employment expenses (signed T2200 from your employer is required)
  • 1 x 15-minute phone call with lead tax preparer
  • Email support for questions

Get Real (Estate)

$165 + GST

  • Employer(s) provide your T4 (not self-employed)
  • More than 5 tax forms including T-slips, medical expenses, investments, childcare, and donations
  • Declaring income & expenses from a rental property you own
  • If you own the property with your partner/spouse, only one partner will be charged for preparing the rental property summary
  • 1 x 15-minute phone call with lead tax preparer
  • Email support for questions

On-the-side

$180 + GST

  • Self-employed, partially or in early stages
  • Self-employment revenue/sales $10,000 or less
  • Not GST or PST registered
  • Not claiming business use of vehicle
  • Have more than 5 tax forms including T-slips, medical expenses, investments, childcare, and donations
  • 1 x 15-minute phone call with lead tax preparer
  • Email support for questions

Start It Up

$225 + GST

  • Sole proprietor (not incorporated) with higher sales / complexity than “on-the-side”
  • Self-employment revenue/sales in the $10,000 - $30,000 range
  • Not GST registered
  • Not claiming business use of vehicle
  • Unlimited tax forms
  • 1 x 15-minute phone call with lead tax preparer
  • Email support for questions

Business Time

$285 + GST

  • Sole proprietor (not incorporated)
  • Self-employment revenue/sales greater than $30,000 and/or GST registered
  • GST return filing included
  • Unlimited tax forms
  • 1 x 15-minute phone call with lead tax preparer
  • Enhanced email support, detailed review of business spreadsheet (or profit and loss from software)
